Something a bit unusual happened to me today. You know, I was walking back home from the town (in Manchester). Just outside Arndale shopping centre, a young woman stopped me on the street and asked me if I was considering doing some modelling. I said, “sure!”. She continued talking about doing a photoshoot for the company “The Photo Lounge” and told me that they pick 500 girls for this. Afterwards, the portfolio is being sent to other companies (that I think they work with or something. I haven’t really done the research about it). Anyway, these companies/or brands are choosing girls to do advertisement pictures for big brands like Next, Selfridges etc.
At that point, I wasn’t quite sold to the story, even though I wanted to believe it, I was still skeptic. She wondered if that was something I would be interested in, and I replied “sure!”
So I gave her my personal details, and had to pay £ 25 cash there and then. So I did that, and later when I told this story to one of my friends from the fashion-course, she was surprised that I paid and all that stuff. One thing I have learned today, is to never will I ever trust people on the street again!
It’s not about the woman being a criminal liar or anything like that. But just, you never know if the people on the street are saying things for real. People on the street are not to be trustworthy, especially should we all be extra careful when they’re asking for money.
But what I did, was to take a picture of her ID, and pedlar’s certificate. I also have approve for talking with her about this company, and receipt for making the payment. Later on the day, they called me to make an appointment, so I will do the photoshoot Thursday next week 🙂 I will take it from there then
